Mobile Area Networks, Inc.
provides mobiLAN® wireless digital connectivity under the non-regulated
802.11 standard at speeds currently up to three megabits per second. This in
contrast to the fact that most wireless companies are thinking and designing
their products utilizing ISDN (128 Kbps) formats. Our mobiLAN® digital
connectivity allows mobile laptop users to securely access the Internet as
well as private Intranets at speeds heretofore only available to wired LAN
or private network users.
An example of how this service may be used to advantage,
mobiLAN®
offers a great deal of functionality to the hospitality industry. The
ability for guests to connect at speeds up to 100 times faster than
traditional switched analog modem connections and at costs which are
exponentially less expensive. This relieves the necessity to add central
office trunking required as a result of ISP connectivity demand through a
PBX. Through mobiLAN®,
capability now exists for a hotel to resell (at a profit) their dedicated
ISDN/DS1/DS3 channel for meetings, conventions and seminars rather than
having to "pass on" expensive telephone company charges associated with
providing for each client's unique temporary event. With
mobiLAN®,
guests have the ability to connect wirelessly from anywhere on the hotel
property. Additionally, mobiLAN®
provides a fertile environment for hotel sales to market applications such
as: Disaster Recovery, Distance Learning, Mobile Corporate Training, Video
Conferencing, Tele-video, Video Meetings and Seminars, Convention
Demonstrations and Presentations utilizing the Internet, fast and
inexpensive Database Replication and numerous GroupWare applications to
local business clients.
While there are many wireless service offerings available to today's
business executives, there are few if any that offer the speed, convenience
and value that is provided with
mobiLAN®. Mobile Area
Networks, Inc., has leveraged emerging wireless technology with software
defined networking to provide a unique interoperability between private
networks, their authorized users and the Internet. The ability to
individually channel packet/cell framed data to a pre-destined location from
virtual sites on a high-speed wireless basis, provides an integrated service
offering that has countless applications. |
